Pinellas Park Motorcycle Fatality

April 29, 2016 – Mark Riendeau was killed when his motorcycle crashed into a truck driven by Russell Kirchoff at the intersection of 66th Street and 94th Avenue North. Riendeau was reportedly southbound on 66th Street on his motorcycle when Kirchoff attempted to make a left turn from northbound 66th Street onto 94th Avenue.

Florida Statute 316.122, titled “Vehicle turning left,” states that “The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection or into an alley, private road, or driveway shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction, or vehicles lawfully passing on the left of the turning vehicle, which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard.”

The violation of a traffic statute is evidence of negligence in Florida courts.

This man pulled out in front of my brother and it resulted in more heartache than I can ever write in a comment. He got nothing…not even a slap on the hand. No apology. signs of remorse. Where’s the justice in that?
